Clubhouse @ Tempe

070910- So Brad and I meet up at the Clubhouse after a little dinner to see Finger Eleven. I only know a few songs at this point, but he'd spammed me with their albums so I could do my homework.

Pride Tiger:

The first band is already on, "Pride Tiger". They're a band from the wild world of Canadia, and they're drummer is their singer! They're music was pretty neat, and I enjoyed boppin to it. Got they're singer (and I think a guitarist.. not sure) to sign me! (Yea you get to see my NC burn too!)

Brad and I chatted with them a bit after their set. Pretty neat dudes, VERY excited to be in AZ lol.

Sick Puppies: Wiki

As we're waiting for the rest of Pride Tiger to mosey on over so I can get a pic with them, the next band starts playing. I look over and I see the most beautiful creature on stage and HAVE to gravitate towards the stage. The band was Sick Puppies, and they were from Australia. Omg I love listening to Aussies talk (it's the accent) and the singer was VERY into audience participation! He kept instructing us to move closer to the stage, talked to the people in the back at the bar, and even ran around the floor where we were before going back on stage!

They're music was so fun to listen to! I was sad I could only buy one CD lol. I should have gotten a lesser known one and just 'found' the one that's out. They were awesome on stage! At one point they played a Destiny's Child song, prefaced by a wonderful introduction: "You might recognize this song, done why three ladies you'd like to grab by the back of their hair, bend over the hood of your car, and just..." At which point I heard the best version of "Say my Name" that I've ever heard lol. This YouTube is almost exactly how they intro and played it at the Clubhouse. Our intro was still better ;)

I jumped, and danced, and drooled over the Bassist Emma lol. Afterwards they signed the CD I bought, and took a picture with me! <3 I can't wait for them to come on through again, I will definetly be there!

I didn't know, but I HAD heard one song before:

Check out the Free Hugs video on YouTube, with "All the Same"

Finger Eleven:

What... do I say... besides "awesome."

These guys are so great to listen to live. The guitarist with the long hair is insane though lol. The way he thrashed his guitar around you almost thought he was having a seizure! Both the sinnger and the bassist perform with their eyes closed!

After an awesome set the long hair guitarist gave a young boy next to Brad and I the setlist taped to the floor and a changer pedal! (Kind of a shame on the setlist, cause we were going to steal it for Brad, maybe try to get them to sign it.) They didn't hang around to sign anything for anyone though, which I thought was kind of a shame.

At one point they covered Walk On, and the Singer/Drummer from Pride Tiger came on stage to sing with them lol. Oh, what good tunes!!

There was a bit of drama during Finger Eleven though: A gaggle of dog-faced birds came pushin up to the front, rubbing and dancing on the guys up there. One of them got so grossed out in the end by the blonde's nails dragging through his shaved hair that he left his awesome spot at the front of the stage! A mosh pit broke out (weird because I don't see Finger Eleven as quite the mosh kind of band.) And in the LAST song, the gaggle of creepy girls had started rubbing on a couple of middle aged lovers just enjoying the concert. The husband tried to keep the big-assed blonde off his wife, and ended up pushing her off. This caused one of the dog-girl's bfs to retatliate and punch the husband! One of the girls was pregnant and started eggin on the wife to fight! Security broke it up and removed the drunk and stupid girls, but I think later that the wife went outside to have words and another fight broke out.

Ah.. rock concerts.
