My FIRST Concert Ever! Thanks Mom!

I grew up on these bands, so it was awesome to get to see them in concert. I had a page up showing off the shirt (one of the FIRST sold at that concert, I might add.) and the ticket stub. :) I'll see if I can find that.

I remember being bored through the first band, and not knowing who they were until I recognized "Eye of the Tiger". Sorry guys lol. I was enrapt the whole concert, and when it all ended with "Grand Illusion" I was HOOKED!

On a side note.. I ended up only seats away from Jessica Weir, a chick I went to school with. :) Neat!

Dream Within a Dream (Leg 2)
Yes, I saw Britney Spears...

with my friend Dean :)

It was actually a really fun concert! I liked some of her music, but Dean was FANATICAL! In the end he said the only two women he could ever love were Me, and Britney! He had an extra ticket and I loved concerts so I went!

It turned out that this tour was exactly like one he had been to before... and I'm pretty sure the date I have listed is wrong, but I can't be sure.

This Nikka Costa women opened, and I liked her stage performance and her music was very funky fun, but when I tried to dig on her later I didn't like the album stuff.

The concert was all TV screens, dancers, fireworks, odd toy cars that she drove around, and wires. Lots of wires. Dean said that in one part the year before she had gotten stuck and someone had to rescue her with a ladder :D

I'll always remember this concert, and partly because when we left, Dean and I were attacked by Coke people who shoved this new product Vanilla Coke at us. We left with like four 'complimentary' cans lol.

Tour With No Name August 1, 2002
This Concert was freaking awesome!

I sprang for some KoRn tix for George and I, as neither of us had ever seen them but they were George's favorite band (really, dude was insane..) It was the LAST SHOW of the entire tour! We watched Deadsy perform, and though he had to tell me who they were, I recognized a couple songs. They were great!

Puddle of Mudd needs a little special recognition as they did something bands rarely do, but earns major points with me: They sound the same on stage as they do on their albums!! Most music has so much filtering and tweaking and takes, that bands rarely can sound like the music they hock in the stores. They did. And with songs as fun as "Hates Me" how can you NOT enjoy them?

KoRn, as I expected, totally rocked. When they came onstage they allowed people from the seats to clamor down into the empty floor area before the stage and do their little moshing thing. I'm not into the whole "let's get sweaty and pound on eachother" scene, so we stayed in our seats lol. We actually got pretty chummy with some people sitting next to us. Nice folks.

Everyone was wonderful. Seeing the Giger Mic in person was cool. George lost his voice not even HALFWAY through the concert lol. He was hoarse for 2 days! They did a song together with the other two bands and it was really neat. I wish I could remember more details.. I do remember something awful about mustard.. hmm...

I was promised...

to see these guys perform since I was 7. It was the first concert I'd ever wanted to go to! We HAD tickets in about 00 or something, but someone got sick on the water here and cancelled! I finally got to go when my Mom got tix, and if I remember correctly, it was Her, George, Zach and myself.

My memory seems to be a little flawed though: the Wikipedia says that on this tour called "Girls of Summer Tour" (which it definitely was... seeing all the caged women dancing on stage with Kid Rock...) there is no listing for Vince Neil... when I clearly remember his useless self drunk and forgetting the words to his own songs.. it instead lists Run DMC on the bill, who I do not remember seeing. Meh..

One of the coolest parts (and a perk to grass seats) was when Aerosmith walked down this huge catwalk that split the pavilion and performed part of the concert not 10 feet from US! Way to make the Cheap Seats feel the love guys!

YAY AEROSMITH! (And yes, Kid Rock was fun as well!)
