I first heard about WC3
from George. He was all interested in it, and had tried to get me to play WC2 with everyone. That was pretty fun, but I didn't get into the single player thing for some reason. I dled the beta and played it a bit, I liked it alright, but wasn't getting into it still. It did however motivate me to start my StarCraft single player game again. When George went all ga-ga over the expansion and dunked himself into it whole-heartedly when I bought it for him he encouraged me to play the WC3 to see how I liked it. Well, I finished the Prologue, the Human campaign, and most of the Undead campaign in one day. Needless to say I got pretty into it.

I suck at those "survive for 30 minutes" acts, really badly. It took me something like 5 years to beat the Starcraft Terran one without cheating. There are 3 in the Undead campaign, I did alright with the first one, barely surviving the first one (when 00:00 hit Arthas had 28 life lol) and I did the last one (chapter 8: last chap) in only 3 tries! George spent 3 weeks on it and I remember him having one hell of a time with it. He gave me the tips on where they would be coming from and some bolstering hints, that even though I would have discovered them, probably saved me 5 deaths of figuring it out. I was amazed that I finished it so easily!

The Human Campaign
was pretty cool, I liked playing Arthas even when he turned into a blithering idiot. But I was surprised that it ended so early. For a while I thought it was still part of the Prologue.

The Undead Campaign
I really enjoyed. I loved getting to have the Frost Wyrms. I mean come on, a purple dragon??!! Awesome! I liked it a lot, and it reminded me of my StarCraft faves the Zerg. I loved the layout and designs of everything so much that I chose their images to be the layout for this page. I still have some work to do on it (jul24o3) but its coming along nicely.

The Orc Campaign
After beating the Undead I made it to chap 3 before my loaner computer started to show signs of over-heating, so I had to hold off til the next day, but that gave me time to start this. Today (jul26o3) I finished the Orc Campaign. I was irritated with the way that I was playing a few of the chapters, and started over just so I could play them better. In Chap 6, Where Wyverns Dare, is where I left off yesterday, and I wasn't getting anywhere. So I gave up the "slow-in-steady" building up method and went for the good old "Zerging". I took all the units I had, did the 2 optional quests, came back, built up my wyverns and sacked their main base til I got through. : ) I love that. Ch7 the Oracle reminded me of something that I did when I played the demo a while back, its like a maze of sorts where you get only who you start with and whoever you find. I started this one over like twice because I wanted to have as many alive in the end as possible; so like when I played the demo I sat and let people regain life and such. The last chapter was another "Zerging" and I did beautifully, until I couldn't kill Hellscream. I hadn't read the friggin stone and didn't know I had to activate it (rolls eyes with a weary "duh"). So when I revived both Thrall and Cairne I ran them back up, and grabbed his soul, and headed straight to the circle of power. The only thing was, my town had just been destroyed, and I had my backup town slowly disappearing. I wasn't about to let that stop me NOW! So I dragged 2 peons to the health shrine and started to build a burrow. So even when they had destroyed my 2 flourishing towns, I had a burrow tucked away (not even completed yet!) so they couldn't count me out. The end video was the most awesome they've had yet, it was done with actual smoothing and work instead of the other polygon ones. I'm also loving that I get to jot this stuff down for prosperity, and wishing that I had started it earlier to get my enthusiasm for th other acts. I'll attack the Night Elf act tomorrow! : D

The Night Elf Campaign
4 chapters in and I could already tell that this is going to be one hard act. Just the first chapter took me a sec to get used to. The archers seemed so weak and I killed Tyrande once trying to kill the paladin. The second chapter (Daughters of the Moon) was a pain in the butt and took me three tries to do it! You have to drag Tyrande through the map, disappearing in the shadows, and not getting your butt kicked. The map twists about and you finally find more people, but if you aren't careful they die pretty easily. Then they seem to expect you to go through a whole town and break into the elf camp, which is whereI died twice. You don't have enough people to do it! I used the walkthrough on this one and found that you can use the ballistas to break through some trees on the far end and chop your way in. I also found an easter egg along the way! The walkthrough says you'll find a Hydralisk, which made me raise and eyebrow and think that someone typoed something in the w.thru, but I chopped down some trees and there he was, a huge Hydralisk! I took a screenshot! Its so coooool!!!  The third chapter (Wake Furion Stormrage) took me twice to do it. The orcs weren't that hard, but the first time I did it I spent too much time checkin out the map. The 4th chap (The Druids Arise) just took forever, having to drag your base with you and all the gold mines being so low. But I did it. : ) In Chap5 (Brothers in Blood) I did alright, just draggin them through the place. Chap6 (Destiny of Flame and Sorrow) I kept attacking the second quest and getting my butt kicked before I finished the first quest. So again, just grabbed a group and rampaged on. Chap7, last chapter, (Twilight of the Gods), survive for 45 minutes. BLEH! I hate those... I'm so bad at them, sigh.
